2022 School Supply Drive
The Outreach Committee will be providing 48 backpacks filled with school supplies for children who are served through Gemma’s Community-Based programs. The price of many of the supplies has increased significantly so the committee will buy everything in bulk. Mid-July, our youth will meet to fill each of the backpacks with the purchased supplies. If you would like to help, please send a check payable to St John’s Presbyterian Church with “School Supplies” on the memo line
Gemma has also expressed a need for ‘fidget toys’ such as Pop-Its or Rubik’s Cubes. If you would like to contribute small toys like these, there is a plastic bin on the Carriage House porch where they can be placed.
Hygiene Kits
The Outreach Committee will host a Hygiene Kit assembly project on July 10 from noon-2:00 PM to support the Church World Service’s national and global community service efforts. Kits will go to communities devastated by natural disasters, violence or extreme poverty and can mean the difference between sickness and health for struggling families.
We are seeking 10-15 volunteers to help with the assembly of 300 hygiene kits; no previous experience is required. Contact Lisa Pool via admin@stjohnsdevon.com if you are interested in participating.
