Christmas Eve Worship at St. John’s Friday, December 24th (4pm & 8pm)

Dec 17, 2021

As you finish up your final preparations this Advent Season, we wanted to share with you some important details about worship this year for our Christmas Eve services.

Two Services: This year we have two worship services: 4pm (Lessons & Carols) and 8pm (Traditional with Livestream). You may recall that our 4pm worship service was a children’s pageant. This year, it has been crafted to be a family friendly worship service for all ages. Rather than dressing up, our children will be given the opportunity to do a “pageant in the pews” with cardboard cut-outs of those who were there on the night Christ was born. Activity bags for children will be made available during both services.

Two Worship Spaces: You may gather for worship in the Fellowship Hall or in the Sanctuary for services. If you wish to worship in the Sanctuary, please enter the doors closest to Berkley Road, all other entrances will be closed. An usher will be available at the Fellowship Hall Ramp Entrance should someone need to use the elevator. Seating is first come first serve, so we encourage you to arrive early if you would like to worship in the Sanctuary. Worship in the sanctuary will be capped at 100, and after we reach capacity, families will be invited to join us in the Fellowship Hall for worship.

Covid Precautions: Our COVID precautions remain in effect: we will be seating worshippers in every other pew and everyone is required to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status. In November, we were able to add hospital grade HEPA air purifiers to the church to give an added layer of safety for our congregation.

Dress Warmly: Each service will conclude all together in the Memorial Garden for a candlelight singing of Silent Night (weather permitting). We encourage you to dress accordingly!

Fellowship: As we celebrate this wonderful night, we invite you to join us for a warm beverage and light refreshments in the Fellowship Hall after the 4pm service!

The Worship & Music Committee is still in need of ushers and candle-lighters for both services. If you wish to learn more about how you can help, please contact the church office!
