Devon Horse Show Parking
May 22- 31

It is April and that means that Horse Show Parking is just around the corner! Erin will soon be dreaming of orange cones, tickets and parking strategies.

The entire St. John's community helps with our fundraiser. Each year we raise between $11,000 and $13,000 for our youth mission trips. Half of our funds go to organizations chosen by the CE committee and our youth.

Over the course of ten days our church is turned into a fun parking operation. We always need help with things like supplies or parking. If you would like to donate your time let Erin know and look for more information coming soon.

Jesus’ Big Words
Matthew 5:13-16; 5:38- 42; 6:25-34

The ministry of Jesus lasted close to three years but left us with so many words of wisdom. Jesus’ parables are stories that have been passed down for thousands of years. In our final rotation for this year we will learn about some of those important words.

In the book of Matthew teaches us about what it means to be a witness of Christ, what it is to be a peacemaker and how to trust in God. We look forward to our children learning more about the life lessons that Jesus offers us.
Broad Street Ministries

Over the past year Erin has been working with the leaders of Broad Street Ministries, www.broadstreetministry.org, in Philadelphia to develop a youth mission experience in the city. Bill Golderer, the convening minister and Erika Funk, Youth initiative minister feel called to create a place where youth can do the work of Christ in Philadelphia.

St. John's has been partnering with their initiative and would like bring our youth this fall for the program. Senior highs would share a night at the church with other youth from the mainline. Worship and dinner would be the highlights for that night. On Saturday morning teens would share in a local mission project, lunch and reflection. More information is coming soon.

Won't you consider serving your brothers and sisters?

Attention 8th Graders!
Confirmation Classes, Wednesdays, 6:30 pm

Eighth Graders, this is YOUR year for confirmation!
Confirmation classes begin in January, meeting weekly on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm as part of Supper at St John's. It is very important that you plan to attend all of these sessions with Dr. Wilson. In addition, each student will be asked to select a mentor to guide you through the process. Start thinking about your adult friends at St. John's so that you'll have a list of suggestions for your mentor as confirmation begins.
