Outreach
Let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action. 1 John 3:18
Mission
To live out our faith in Jesus Christ by sharing his love in our community and around the world.

Recognizing its call to serve as the hands of Christ in the world, St. John's Presbyterian Church has dedicated itself to committing twenty-five percent of its annual budget to fund its outreach activities.

The Outreach Committee seeks to integrate global and local mission efforts, to guide our congregation's investment of financial resources in service toward others, and even more, to cultivate Christ-like relationships with our neighbors near and far.
St. John's Outreach Funds at Work
To kick off its 2007 benevolence work, the St. John's Outreach Committee provided the $5000 entry fee for a St. John's team in the recently completed builder's competition held at the Devon Horse Fair grounds. In a perfect blending of local and national concerns, the entry fee goes to help Habitat for Humanity efforts in the Philadelphia area. The framed houses are being sent to Louisiana to help support the continuing post-Katrina rebuilding effort.

Spotlight Concern

Crisis in Darfur
Each year, the St. John's Outreach Committee reserves ten percent of its annual benevolence outlays to address a major humanitarian crisis at the local, national, or international level. At the end 2006, the committee decided that the ongoing genocide in Darfur called out for us to act. While we recognize the inadequacy of our efforts, we felt that we could not stand by silently.
