Christian Outreach
Let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action. 1 John 3:18
Mission
To live out our faith in Jesus Christ by sharing his love in our community and around the world.

Recognizing its call to serve as the hands of Christ in the world, St. John's Presbyterian Church has dedicated itself to committing twenty-five percent of its annual budget to fund its outreach activities.

The Christian Outreach Committee seeks to integrate global and local mission efforts, to guide our congregation's investment of financial resources in service toward others, and even more, to cultivate Christ-like relationships with our neighbors near and far.
St. John's Outreach Funds at Work
The St. John's Christian Outreach Committee supports a variety of benevolences. The Committee receives solicitations for support each year from many worthy organizations. The Committee carefully and thoroughly reviews and evaluates such requets against standard guidelines and citeria to determine which organziations will receive St. John's financial support.

Opportunities to Serve and Volunteer
We will regularly post notices of local volunteer opportunities and St. John's sponsored mission trips.

Opportunities for Education and Discussion
As part of its efforts to raise consciousness and not just raise funds, the Christian Outreach Committee will host periodic discussions on a topic connected to St. John's outreach work.

St. John's Committee for Peace and Social Justice
This small group meets once a month for a book discussion and explores ways with which we seek to exert a transformative presence within St. John's. For more information, contact Paul Steege.

  • Fairly traded coffee is available for purchase during coffee hour on the first and third Sundays of the month.

  • St. John's Going Green: Since 2007, the Peace and Social Justice group has embarked on a campaign to educate and encourage good environmental practices, beginning with our own church and homes. Learn more about those efforts and the steps we are taking as a church and congregation to help protect and preserve our precious environmental resources.
