REACT Food Donations
In these difficult times REACT is providing non-perishable food items to 141 local families each month. And because these are difficult economic times, donations have dropped. Won't you please consider placing cans on Ensure Plus (any flavor) and boxes of Cheerios in our Food Pantry box in Fellowship Hall? Monetary donations for emergency situations and purchase of perishable items would also be greatly appreciated. Bless you for your always generous response! |
Disciple Bible Study
Alternate Wednesdays, June 2 through August 25 7:00 pm
Want to learn how to better understand the Bible? Try out the Disciples group! We have discovered that you can't learn it alone. Group participation makes all the difference! The Disciples group meets Wednesdays to study the Bible book by book, and grow and learn through togetherness and study. You are welcome to join us for the New Testament segment that begins June 2 and will conclude on November 30. During the summer months our group meets every other Wednesday in the Kean Room. All are welcome! |
Philabundance Volunteer Opportunity
First Tuesday of each month
Philabundance has a need for volunteers at the Berks Street location. The next opportunity to participate in this event is August 3 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. For those who would like to carpool or need help with transportation, please meet at St. John's by 5:00 pm. This important so we can be on-site by 6:00 pm to get started on time. Please R.S.V.P. in advance to Kathy Shaw or Brian Bouvier so we can let Philabundance know how many volunteers to expect and ensure that we have transportation for everyone. For more information, please contact Brian or Kathy. |
Companions in Prayer
Wednesdays, 9:00 - 10:00 am, Kean Room
Each Wednesday several of us gather in the Kean Room to pray for our church family, our community and our world. If you are not able to be with us, won't you please pause for a minute or two during that hour to add your prayer to ours? |
Baby Bundles Sewing Group
Fourth Mondays, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm, Kean Room
On the fourth Monday of each month, several women meet in the Kean Room to sew and knit baby layettes which are distributed by Church World Service. If you enjoy sewing (we have machines), laughing (we do a lot of that) and sharing your gifts with others, please join us from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm (or stay for as much time as you can) with a noon break for a brown bag lunch. Call Nancy Davis for more information. |
Inward Journey
Thursdays, 10:00 - 11:30 am, Carriage House
For more than 15 years, this Bible/devotional study group has met in the Carriage House on Thursday mornings to read and discuss a myriad of devotional and spritual books and materials. We invite you to join us. You can join at any time. |
Women's Biblical Reflection
Sundays, 8:00 am, Carriage House
Every Sunday a gathering of women meet in the Carriage House. We share leadership, and choose our own themes and readings from the Bible or other inspirational books. We are currently reading Life of the Beloved by Henri J.M. Nouwen. Life of the Beloved is a journey about friendship. Henri Nouwen is trying to respond to Fred's concern on how to live a spiritual life in the midst of a secular world. Through his correspondence Henri found a language that speaks clearly and convincingly to those who are searching for God in the complex world in which we live. The book affirms that everyone is loved by God and gives one a renewal of faith. Please join us as we build community and grow in our faith. Contact Debbie Railton, Nancy Davis, or Ellen Moeller with questions. |
